In this course essential mathematical methods for physicists will be introduced focusing on their relevance to physics and on their applications in physics. In the lectures we will try to cover Vector Analysis, Curved Coordinates, Tensors, Determinants and Matrices, and Infinite Series. Projecting the physical symmetries and basic properties onto mathematics and vice versa will deepen the knowledge in both fields of science. Look inside the Book!

Learning outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to resolve any reasonable combination of Nabla operators and fields, derive and apply any kind of curved coordinates and integral theorems, work with an arbitrary number of indeces, find eigenvalues and eigenvectors, use symmetries to simplify problems, ... or in short, you should know what we have done and if you don't ask or Look inside the Book!.
