Columbia and South Carolina
Sumwalt College is one block from the original 1801 USC campus, known as the Horseshoe. Three coffee shops and numerous restaurants, taverns, and even a microbrewery are
within a three block radius of the NanoCenter. The Longstreet theater is across the street from the building, as is the main university library. The NanoCenter is close
to the University's planned urban research park, Innovista, and is a short hop from Columbia's Vista district, with even more eateries and nightspots, as well as furniture
stores and art galleries. With 40,000 acre Lake Murray, urban bike paths, floating on the Broad River, and other attractions in town, a two hour drive taking you either
to South Carolina's lowcountry and the Atlantic Ocean, or to the Blue Ridge parkway and Appalachian Trail, Columbia is an ideal place to live, work, and play.
