JOB OPPORTUNITIES - CRAWFORD GROUP

The Crawford Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of South Carolina seeks outstanding applicants for one or more positions as a Postdoctoral Associate, with a focus on sensor architectures fabricated by chemical self-assembly. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a strong focus on functionalizing self-assembled monolayers, for example, with synthetic DNA, for potential sensing applications using electron/magnetotransport. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with alkanethiol self-assembly, metal depositon, and nanoscale characterization. Experience with magnetic alloy thin film materials for spintronic devices is a plus.
