In this course, students will give seminars to their peers. Faculty will not be present. Each student will give one seminar and attend all seminars given by other students. The purpose of the seminars is to have fun learning new things, promote the research culture within the department, increase interaction between students, and have time to discuss student issues. It will also give you the vital practice on how to give effective presentations. The following link provides some pointers on how to give talks:

The following are the guidelines of these seminars:
There will be two to three people per one-hour session (talks will last 15'–30' including questions).
The talk can be on any science topic.
An abstract should be submitted before the talk.
There will be audience critiques of each presenter.
You are encouraged to discuss your topics with your advisors or other mentors.
Grades are based solely on attendance and whether or not you give a talk:
